Several things for the MSFS 2020 version:

We need to revise the required downloads section in the description below. See the revised files by sim version located in the instructions below.

Note: You'll need to install the LEGACY IPDC library for the MSFS 2020 version. If you update the IPDC libraries for the purposes of using them for 2024(they are required for that version), they will overwrite the existing files for 2020 and will break the 2020 scenery.

I am using addon linker and have separate folders to house the respective versions for each and I turn on the appropriate addons in the appropriate addons linker. If you are using the community folder, there is no conflict with the airfield objects. the additional scenery libraries need to be kept separate.

Established in the late 1930s as Europe darkened, Debden would soon become a crucible of air combat, a home to British, Commonwealth, and American pilots whose stories still echo across its surviving runways.

We're pleased to announce our 3.0 Update of RAF Debden for MSFS 2024. There are quite a few things that we have worked to cleanup and add to the quality of this World War II RAF and 8th Airforce base - home to RAF Battle of Britain Squadrons, The Eagle Squadrons, and the 4th Fighter group attached to the 8th Airforce.

This airfield contributed mightily to the success of the war effort and we have been mindful to honor the service and sacrifice displayed in this place.

You'll need to also update the supporting libraries listed below for best results.

Note: Folders have been renames for the main assets in the addon. You'll need to ensure you are linking to the new content. We also advise you backup (if desired) and remove any old copies from your community folder to avoid potential conflicts.

2) Placed/Replaced, or removed ground scatter

3) Removed Towed Gliders

4) Additional tree lines added for a more natural flow

5) Repaired issues with ground textures near edges and ends of runways

6) Added some period signage to a few buildings

7) Added textures to taxiway and ground service paths

8) Placed additional trees in the Village

9) Placed trees that were removed during SU3 and SU 4

10) Added building objects that disappeared during SU 3 and 4

We're preparing to release the 3.0 version of RAF Debden during the next week (barring new QA finds, of course). In addition, we're already at work on Version 4.0 that will be based on additional historical research we've been doing and collecting more opportunities for refinement.

We are publishing an update for the 2024 version. Please ensure that you unzip the latest zip file and copy those files to your addon or community folder. You'll also need to disable the 2dogzdesigns-airport-edbd-raf-debden_24 folder. It will conflict with the new version if left turned on.

We've cleaned up some items around the runways, added trees back to the property after being removed by the sim and made corrections to textures to the grass surfaces around the airfield, and repositioned a few items along the way. We've also added a new parking location near the end of runway 09.

Update 2 of MSFS 2024 has broken some of the scenery in the village of Debden. We;kk be working on an update and we will have something published as soon as possible ! SOme of the interesting treelines were also removed by the update, and we will be adding some back to keep the area looking realistic vs looking like a pasture!!

We have updated RAF Debden for 2024 and added improvements to the location. The village haas much to discover and we've reworked ground features, added some textures, and a few custom objects as well! The trailer will give you an idea of whats here with more to follow!

This is the 5th airfield customization project by 2DogzDesigns in customizing scenery for a series of “Warbird Wednesday” group flights. RAF Debden, located 3 miles southeast of Saffron Walden and approximately 1 mile north of the village of Debden in north Essex, England, is a former Royal Air Force station. The airfield was opened in April 1937 and was first used by the Royal Air Force.

During World War II, RAF Debden served as a Sector Station, with an Operations Block for No. 11 Group RAF during the Battle of Britain. Many different RAF units were posted to Debden, including No 17, 29, 65, 73, 80, 85, 87, 111, 157, 257, 418, 504 and 601 Squadrons. The airfield was attacked several times during the Battle of Britain.

The Hangers are true to placement as well as representations of buildings around various parts of the airfield. Diagrams and Recon photos were used as a guide. In 1942, it was also home to three RAF 'Eagle Squadrons’ of volunteer American pilots. When the base was handed over to the Americans in 1942, the Eagle Squadrons transferred to the USAAF, becoming the 4th Fighter Group. Equipped first with Spitfires, then P-47 Thunderbolts, the Group occupied Debden until July 1945.

The default scenery around the airfield was edited to put the village into a time warp to add to the emersion. You’ll find a variety of items added to the surrounding scenery with a mixture of buildings, vehicles, scatter, and various equipment.

here are a variety of aircraft including Hurricanes, Spitfires, P-51s, and P-47 Thunderbolts if you own aircraft from Aeroplane Heavven, Milviz, and Flying Iron

The layout is not intended to be 100% historically accurate but representative of the time. We hope that you’ll explore the village and the airfield. Good luck as you operate from this historic place.
