    Description

    Kilimanjaro Airport is in the Northern Province of Tanzania on the southern foot hills of Mount Kilimanjaro.  It is the hub for Tourists Safaris to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.  

    I have designed this airport as a freeware to look as close as to the real airport.  These are the additions to the design:

    1. Aprons are correctly numbered and added apron numbers on Taxiway surface to identify the parking spots.

    2. Hold short markings on taxiways.

    3. Taxi signs correctly placed for easy identification of taxiways.

    4. Added VOR, ILS localiser and Glide Slope antennas.

    5. Updated the airport Fire Station and added fire trucks. 

    6. Correctly connected the Taxi Lines for AI traffic and ATC directions.

    7. Added Taxi lights and some buildings flood lights.

    You will need UK2000 scenery which is available free in Market Place and download and install the following sceneries into your community folder.

    Installation:  Download the zip file vforce-airport-htkj-kilimanjaro and unzip it.  Copy the unzipped folder "vforce-airport-htkj-kilimanjaro" into your community folder.  Enjoy it.

    Hello. Could you use different library for lights please? For example the EDHK library? Or add lights directly into your airport scenery? I cant use the airport lights addon - it creates duplicite lights at many airports for me. Thanks.

    My airport lights are from fs-base and are added directly. Therefore, you should not have any duplication issue at HTKJ. If you are having duplication issues at other airports, then my friend, just delete the file in your community folder that is from this link: https://flightsim.to/file/8614/airports-lights.

    Thanks for your comment. However, I went round the whole airport but could not spot the step. Could you please identify by the parking number where this step is? Better still, attach a screen shot.

    Hey, I also grew up in Arusha, in the early to mid 1950s, and as a child was quite fluent in Swahili. I have vivid memories of a safari around Ngorongoro Crater long before it was a tourist attraction. Thanks for this scenery!

    This add-on presents a detailed representation of Kilimanjaro International Airport (HTKJ), located in Tanzania at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. It includes accurately numbered aprons, hold short markings, and well-placed taxi signs to enhance navigation. Additional features such as VOR and ILS antennas, improved fire station facilities, and connected taxi lines for AI traffic contribute to a realistic airport experience.     I have update HTKJ for MSFS 2020 with correct taxiway names and signs. Additionally, I have added HTKJ for MSFS 2024. Please, download the zip file and unzip it. You will get a folder named HTKJ-Kilimanjaro. Inside this folder, there are two folders, one for MSFS 2020 and one for MSFS2024. Choose the one you want and move into your respective community folder.
