Your own island and airfield in New Zealand!

Welcome to my version of NZKD, the aerodrome on Motu Kaikoura Island, 40nm from Auckland city and only 80 metres from famous Gt Barrier Island, an island popular with both international tourists and locals alike. It is also only 53nm from iconic Ardmore Aerodrome which has been faithfully built in full detail and is free to download.

Be sure to download my NZGB - Great Barrier Aerodrome, which is only a 5 minute chopper flight away so that you can do your weekly shopping.

I have taken creative liberty with this scenery to build you your own stake on this heritage listed island. You now own the airfield, and must maintain and manage it. The scenery includes your own hangar, helicopter, your beautiful home (complete with swimming pool), a caretaker's residency (you don't do ALL the work sheesh..),  and your own boat in the nearby bay. 

This airfield is NOT fictional and will therefore appear in MSFS and charts. It has 2 parking spots and one heli-pad and is partially lighted as it is not intended for nighttime operations. However, it has just enough lighting to attempt a tricky approach at night if you dare.

Be sure to have the dependancies listed below installed, as well as the UK2000 Scenery Library which is free from the Marketplace.

Remove any other previous NZKD scenery you might have installed.

V1.2  08 Aug 25

• Made more room around the helipad.
• Added more stuff to the hangar.
• Added a dependancy in the dependancies list that I had missed to display the main home.

• Made more room on the other side of the runway near the main house.
• Added 1 helicopter parking (not a Helipad) and 1 GA parking there.
• Added a wind barrier to shield the main house from the new Heli parking spot.
• Added way more eye candy and animation to bring more life to it.

• Corrected some elevation issues that had crept in without my knowing.

V1.5   30 Dec 25

• FS2024 version update.
• Replaces/substitutes missing objects caused by SU4. 
• Fixes lighting issues also caused by updates in SU4.
• All of my scenery is now being checked for this total mess they caused us Dev's.
• Adds cool new lighting around the pool area, and new speakers to dance to.

• Corrects a major terrain issue caused by me in the last update.
• Apologies, seems I accidently deleted a crucial polygon that was doing important terrain profiling, just as I compiled it.
• This change is already in the latest NZ Collection as well, just not advertised.

• Replaced your fountain by your swimming pool with an animated one.
• Added solar panels to your beautful home to make it eco-friendly.
• Added basket ball hoop for you to stay fit.

• Last update before SU5, I promise. Created all new screenshots to reflect the many changes of this amazing personal space.
• Fixes the last of the terrain issues this island has presented me. 
• Added new family flavour between the wife and husband. Even I had to laugh when I thought this one up. See new screenshots above.
• Prepared the scenery for my TaxiTuner4 profile for Say Intentions AI. Not all my scenery needs updates for this process, just a few like this one.
