Checklist Reader listens to your responses, tracks every completed item and always knows exactly where you are — both in the flight and in the active checklist.

🛫 Live Simulator Awareness
Checklist Reader connects directly to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 through SimConnect and optional native simulator packages.
During the flight, your copilot monitors live aircraft and simulator data, including:
- Aircraft configuration
- Engine and electrical parameters
- Fuel and temperatures
- Flight phase and aircraft state
- Route, altitude and waypoint progress
- SimBrief, PLN and MSFS 2024 EFB flight plans
- Potential hazards and configuration problems

You can ask questions at any time:

🗺️ Flight Planning, Navigation and Moving Map
Load a SimBrief flight plan, import an MSFS PLN route or read the current route directly from the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 EFB.
EFB routes can be refreshed after changes made during the flight. Cruise altitude, departure and arrival procedures, selected runways and supported VFR traffic patterns are imported together with the route.
Checklist Reader resolves airports, navaids, enroute fixes and procedure legs against the navigation database of the running simulator. If Navigraph data is installed in MSFS, its current AIRAC cycle is used automatically without requiring an additional Navigraph account connection.
The integrated moving map can display:
- The active SimBrief, PLN or Simulator/EFB route
- SIDs, STARs and approaches
- Departure and arrival runways
- Supported VFR traffic patterns
- Airports, navaids and enroute fixes
- Current aircraft position and recorded track
- Tour Guide areas and points of interest
All three flight-plan sources can remain loaded at the same time and be selected directly from the map.
Checklist Reader follows your progress, announces upcoming waypoints and can warn about route, altitude or configuration deviations.
Your complete flight path can be recorded and later reviewed or exported for applications such as Google Maps and Google Earth, including a 3D replay of the flight.
🚀 Advisory V-Speeds and Takeoff Callouts
Checklist Reader can determine advisory V1, VR and V2 speeds from the loaded aircraft and current simulator conditions.
Depending on the aircraft and available data, it can use:
- Values supplied by supported aircraft systems
- Aircraft-specific mappings
- Available performance tables
- Aircraft weight and configuration
- Wing, stall-speed and design-speed data
- Wind and density-altitude information
Each result identifies its source and confidence. Speeds can also be entered manually.
During the takeoff roll, flight monitoring can announce V1, rotate and V2 automatically. Speeds are prepared on the ground, refreshed when the takeoff roll is detected and then frozen for that attempt after the first callout.
These values are advisory simulator aids and are not certified performance calculations. Always verify them against the applicable AFM, POH or aircraft performance documentation.
🧮 Integrated Flight Calculator
The integrated Flight Calculator provides a searchable collection of aviation calculations organized in a navigation tree.
Calculators can be opened side by side, marked as favorites or hidden when they are not needed. Entered values and the selected calculators can be retained between sessions.
Available categories include flight planning, performance, navigation, weather and radio calculations.
The Radio & Frequencies section includes tools for:
- TACAN/DME channel and frequency conversion
- ILS localizer, glide-path and DME pairing
- 8.33 kHz channel conversion
- Radio and navaid reception range
- Navaid identification in Morse code
- Advisory V1, VR and V2 speeds
🌍 Guided Tours and Training Procedures
Turn a free flight or planned route into a spoken sightseeing experience.
Checklist Reader detects nearby landmarks, tells you where to look and narrates their history while displaying the relevant areas and points on the moving map.
The included Tour Guide library now contains more than 150 datasets covering cities, landscapes, geological formations, historic routes, aviation pioneers and destinations around the world.
The Tour Guide can match its narration to SimBrief, PLN and Simulator/EFB routes. Before starting, it can estimate the tour’s length and recommend whether a piston aircraft, turboprop or jet provides a suitable pace for the available narration.
You can also create your own tours for any region or route.
In addition to sightseeing tours, the library can contain guided simulator procedures: ordered, chart-based coaching callouts for practicing procedures such as an approach. These are simulator training aids only and never replace current charts, AIP information, NOTAMs, ATC clearance or the aircraft flight manual.
🎛️ Stream Deck, Webhooks and Cockpit Integration
Checklist Reader includes an open, optional HTTP and JSON integration interface for external tools and cockpit hardware.
It provides:
- Live checklist status and event updates
- Outbound webhooks
- Inbound checklist commands
- Event polling and live event streams
- Local-network access for tablets and second PCs
- Token-based access protection
- An interactive integration learning and testing package
The included first-party Elgato Stream Deck plugin can display the current checklist, section or item directly on a Stream Deck button and send commands such as Check, Skip, Repeat, Pause, Resume or Next Section.
No additional bridge software is required for the Stream Deck plugin.
The open interface can also be used with:

This allows voice commands, physical controls and visual displays to remain synchronized with the active checklist.
🖥️ MSFS 2024 Companion Panel
The included Checklist Reader Companion is a dedicated in-game toolbar panel for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
It provides:
- Live checklist and connection status
- Current, previous and upcoming checklist items
- Section progress and remaining items
- Normal, Abnormal and Emergency section overviews
- Searchable voice-command and query reference
- Favorites and voice-assisted search
- An optional external browser view for a second monitor
The panel is especially useful in VR because essential checklist information remains visible inside the simulator without switching to another application.
The Companion panel and the EFB Bridge are separate optional simulator packages. The Companion displays and controls Checklist Reader inside MSFS, while the EFB Bridge imports the route planned in the simulator’s EFB.
🛬 Full GSX Pro Integration
Control GSX Pro directly by voice through Checklist Reader.
Trigger individual actions, navigate GSX menus, request boarding, deboarding, catering, refueling, pushback and other ground services, or reset GSX whenever needed — all without taking your hands off the controls.
When GSX asks a follow-up question, such as which handling agent or fuel provider to use or how much fuel to load, you can answer by voice:
“Swissport.”
“Option three.”
“Sixty percent.”
Several configurable radio-call styles are supported, from short “Ground, …” calls to cockpit, ramp and operations variants. The selected wording is used consistently by voice recognition, the Companion panel, Stream Deck and the command overview.
Mouse operation remains available at all times.

Push-To-Talk can be assigned to a keyboard shortcut or operated through compatible HOTAS controls, pedals, button boxes, Stream Deck buttons and other macro devices.
⚠️ Antivirus Notice
Some antivirus scanners may incorrectly flag the application because of its voice-recognition, simulator-integration and local HTTP-interface features.
Checklist Reader contains no telemetry or user tracking. Its core functionality works locally and offline.
Network communication occurs only when you explicitly use or enable features such as SimBrief, data downloads, local-network access, external integrations or configured webhooks.

Checklist Reader – Version 1.0.17.8 A small maintenance release on top of 1.0.17.6. It adds six new Tour Guides, gives the map a much better sense of when it actually needs to thin out its labels, tells heliports and seaplane bases apart properly again, and cleans up a number of things that showed up in live-test logs – from a connection that gave up too early to a shipped log file full of noise. Important: Existing checklists and checklist bundles remain fully compatible. -------------------------------------------------- NEW: Six New Tour Guides – Upper Rhine And Hamburg • Upper Rhine in three legs: Freiburg City, the Southern Black Forest with the Three-Country Corner, and the Rhine Plain with Alsace and the Vosges. • Hamburg and the German Bight in three legs: city and port, the Lower Elbe down to Cuxhaven, and the Wadden Sea with Mittelplate and Heligoland. • As always, every point was checked against real map data before it went into the dataset, and each tour ships with its research record. -------------------------------------------------- IMPROVED: Map Detail, Heliports And Seaplane Bases • The map only thins out its labels under genuine, sustained load now. Previously a handful of individual peaks spread over four minutes looked like a permanently slow map – even though it was drawing in about 10 ms on average – and the detail never came back. It now steps back up on its own once the load stops, zooming in releases the reduction immediately, the filter switches override it instead of sitting uselessly underneath it, and a new "Show Full Detail Now" entry in the map menu guarantees everything is drawn for 90 seconds. • Heliports are heliports again. With the map set to simulator navigation data, small airfields and helipads ended up in the same group, which made the heliport filter useless – hiding small airfields took the helipads with them – and left the colour meaningless. The cause: nearly 32,000 catalogue entries carry a placeholder code no simulator knows, and outside the USA those are almost all heliports. They are now matched by position as well, which brings every single one of them back with the correct class. Heliports also changed colour from brown to purple; the old brown was half a shade from the red of airfields and a nuance of the balloon port brown, which at seven pixels left only the shape to tell them apart. • Seaplane bases now only count as a landing option for aircraft that can actually land on water, and a float-only aircraft is no longer offered runways it cannot use. Whether an aircraft floats is read from the simulator's own aircraft configuration rather than guessed; amphibians get both, and any unclear answer falls back to wheels. -------------------------------------------------- IMPROVED: Simulator Connection And Simulator Pause • Automatic reconnection no longer gives up. Four quick attempts covered two and a half minutes, after which nothing ever happened again – which is exactly the normal sequence of starting Checklist Reader first and MSFS second, since the simulator takes considerably longer to load. The connection now drops into a quiet watch mode that looks once a minute for a running simulator and connects when it finds one. A deliberate disconnect still takes priority. • A manual disconnect used to reconnect itself about twelve seconds later. It now stays disconnected until you reconnect. • Checklist Reader finally knows whether the simulator is actually flying. A pause used to look like a stationary aircraft, so the flight path kept collecting points that were never flown. Flight path recording and the internal render report now rest while the simulator is paused. Everything you operate at a standing simulator – speech, checklists, the map, the Tour Guide panel, the imported flight plan – keeps running as before. -------------------------------------------------- IMPROVED: Settings, Log Files And Checklist Repair • Your settings survive an update – changed values, keys only the running application ever wrote, and your own key combinations including actions the settings template does not know. That has always been the intention; it is now covered by tests so no future change can quietly break it. • The configuration file is no longer rewritten and backed up on every single start. It is only touched when something genuinely differs or when the file could not be read at all. • Two ways a perfectly valid configuration could abort the whole program start – two repairs within the same second, and an installation folder in which the backup folder cannot be created, such as under Program Files – no longer do. The message "App settings invalid – startup aborted" was plainly wrong in both cases. • A trailing comma left behind when editing a checklist by hand is now removed automatically. This matters because the in-game panel parses with JavaScript, which rejects such a file outright. The repair is surgical: exactly those commas disappear, every other byte stays where it was, including indentation, key order, comments and line endings; before and after are compared, and if anything differs beyond the comma the file is left untouched. Commas inside spoken answers such as "Set, }" are recognized as text and never touched – they used to produce false warnings. All 739 checklists in the library and the bundles are currently free of them, so this only comes into play for hand-edited files from now on. • Considerably less noise in the shipped log: the in-game panel no longer dumps around forty lines of raw HTML every time it opens, the editor no longer writes a line for every comment, pause, callout and section it creates, and the harmless GSX "not connected" state at startup no longer lands in the incident log – the very file users send in when something is really wrong. -------------------------------------------------- FIXED: Corrections • "Exit Application" could be ignored entirely. After cancelling out of the aircraft selection, the program ended up waiting for a signal that never came, so two confirmed exit requests left the application running with no shutdown at all. • A SimBrief import redrew the map three times, recalculating the whole route and refitting the view each time. It is now applied once, like the PLN and EFB paths already were, and switching back and forth between two sources still redraws properly. • Two warnings per connection in the incident log turned out to be expected, harmless rejections from the WASM bridge. They are recognized as such now, and the diagnostic context attached to them can no longer be two hours old and point at something completely unrelated. -------------------------------------------------- Community & Support The Checklist Reader is an actively evolving project, and feedback is always welcome. 🗺️ Flight plans can now be loaded directly from the MSFS 2024 EFB, including in-flight route changes and the planned cruise altitude.
📡 Waypoints, navaids, and airports are now resolved primarily through the simulator’s own navigation database, automatically using the current Navigraph AIRAC when available.
🛫 SIDs, STARs, approaches, departure and arrival runways, and VFR traffic patterns can now be imported and displayed as real route points on the map.
⚡ A new advisory V1 / VR / V2 calculator uses the currently loaded aircraft and conditions, with optional automatic takeoff callouts.
🧭 Flight plan handling has been rebuilt, allowing PLN, SimBrief, and Simulator/EFB plans to be loaded simultaneously, validated, and configured independently.
🧮 The Flight Calculator now features a navigation tree, favourites, multiple calculators at once, and a new Radio & Frequencies section.
🌍 The Tour Guide library grows from 113 to 153 datasets, adding 40 new tours, aircraft recommendations, and the first guided simulator procedures.
✈️ Four new checklists have been added for the Working Title Boeing 707-320C and AzurPoly C-160 Transall, alongside improvements to windows, Stream Deck profiles, GSX radio phrasing, and Setup.
🔧 Numerous bugs have been fixed and automated testing has been expanded significantly, while all existing checklists and checklist bundles remain fully compatible.

🔗 Your EFB flight plan — SID, STAR, and all — will flow directly into Checklist Reader alongside SimBrief and PLN support, finally giving IFR pilots accurate procedure tracking straight from the aircraft they're flying.
🎯 Takeoff speeds will get the same treatment: V1, VR, and V2 will be calculated from real aircraft, weight, and runway performance data instead of entered by hand, then called out at exactly the right moment on your takeoff roll.
🗺️ And for VFR and scenic flyers, the TourGuide panel will recommend the right aircraft class for any tour — piston, turboprop, or jet — based on how the route is actually paced, so you never outrun (or crawl past) the story.
📋 Three new aircraft checklists arrive with the update: the iconic Boeing 707-320C (full and Easy versions), the C-160 Transall in civilian and military configurations. Each includes detailed research notes for those who want to understand the source material.
🌍 Thirty new TourGuides explore history, geology, and landscape across continents: Cold War Berlin, the San Andreas Fault across five California routes, the Viking journeys to Greenland and Vinland, Nepal's peaks, Iceland's geothermal drama, the Panama Canal, New York and Chicago's urban stories, the Galápagos, and more. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die neue GSX-Pro-Integration mit Sprachsteuerung, die dank der neuen GSX-API sauber umgesetzt werden konnte.
Mit Checklist Reader Lite gibt es außerdem eine eigenständige, besonders schlanke Version für die reine Checklistenarbeit.
Der Tour Guide wurde vollständig überarbeitet und auf 113 einzelne Guides erweitert.
Hinzu kommen neue Flugzeug-Checklisten, Monitoring-Presets und der Befehl „Next Item Now“.
Auch Karte, Companion Web Panel, Stream Deck und zahlreiche interne Abläufe wurden weiter verbessert.

Checklist Reader 1.0.16.10 is one of the biggest updates so far.
A major highlight is the new GSX Pro integration with voice control, which could be implemented cleanly thanks to GSX’s new API.
Checklist Reader Lite also introduces a separate, lightweight edition focused entirely on checklist operation.
The Tour Guide system has been completely rebuilt and expanded to 113 individual guides.
The update also includes new aircraft checklists, monitoring presets, and the “Next Item Now” command.
The map, Companion Web Panel, Stream Deck support, and many internal processes have also been improved.
Be sure to try the Annunciator Panel, which provides quick and direct access to many functions.

Da ich es eigentlich nur für die Checklisten benutze, redet mir der virtuelle Copilot ein wenig zu viel. Mir persönlich würde das reine Checkliste lesen mit einem "xy-Checklist complete" am Ende reichen. Ich fände es super, wenn es dafür eine Einstellung gäbe. (Vielleicht habe ich sie nur noch nicht gefunden?)
Dies soll keine (negative) Kritik sein, (der eine mag es so, der andere so) sondern ggf. ein Vorschlag für die Weiterentwicklung.

Hi! Vielen Dank! Es gibt tatsächlich schon Einstellungen dafür.
Wenn du weniger Ansagen möchtest, probier den Expert-Modus unter "Quick Konfiguration" (Tab "Mode"). Das ist ideal für Nutzer, die nur reine Checklisten abarbeiten wollen.
Zusätzlich kannst du die Flugüberwachung ausschalten – deaktiviere einfach die Call-Out-Funktionen für Flight, Route, Tour und GSX. Diese Schalter findest du im Simulator-Fenster und im Kartenfenster.
Oder noch einfacher: Nutze die Lite-Version. Sie ist sehr fokussiert – keine Simulator-Verbindung, nur pure Checklisten.
⚠️ Wichtig: Die Lite-Version greift auf die gleichen Einstellungen zu wie die Vollversion. Konfiguriere daher zuerst alles (Sprache, TTS-Geschwindigkeit, etc.) in der Vollversion, dann kannst du die Lite-Version nutzen.

Do you know if a Skyward c680 package exist ?
C680 & C700 flight process, cockpit organization and checklist are very closed, does the C700 Longitude checklist pack can be used for the C680 if no dedicated Checklist pack ?

For now, we’ll release it as a standalone checklist rather than a full package and see what you think. Depending on the feedback, we can always expand it into a package later.

Both aircraft now share consistent safety barriers across the full flight: explicit transponder sequencing (Standby → Altitude reporting → Traffic mode → Standby), defined beacon/landing light states, crew oxygen checks, and a dedicated Securing Aircraft section for the postflight walkaround. Each checklist is validation-clean and source-documented.
As always, I'll be posting early-access versions on discord so you can test them out and share feedback before the official release. Both the C680 Sovereign+ and C700 Citation Longitude will ship in the next release. 🎯
