TAM SkySim MD11 PP-MSH 2006, and Varig was increasingly indebted and could stop operating at any moment. The national market was already under TAM's control, the focus now was to take advantage of the gap left by the pioneer, and therefore negotiations began to bring new aircraft to the fleet. In 2009, Boeing lent 3 McDonnell Douglas MD-11s to the Brazilian company for a very low price. These planes would come configured because TAM wanted to improve its good product for international flights. And so it was done, configured in 3 classes, TAM received the MD-11 with registrations PT-MSH, PT-MSI and PT-MSJ. VASP SkySim MD11 PP-SFA VASP (Viação Aérea São Paulo) was created on November 4, 1933 with two Monospar 6AL/MKII. On November 12, occurred the first flight between Sao Paulo, Ribeirão Preto and Uberaba. In 1988 Sao Paulo state government was committed to privatizing Vasp and tried to improve its financial situation. On October first, 1990 the second largest airline in Brazil was bought by Voe Canhedo consortium. After its privatization Vasp began a huge expansion and doubled its fleet with new Boeing 737-300, 737-400, DC-8 and DC-10-30 reaching almost sixty aircrafts. Vasp also began a major expansion in the international market and ordered new MD-11.
