EGBW - Wellesbourne Mountford Airfield - Image 2

    Description

V2.0 and above is for MSFS 2024 only.
    Use V1.43 for MSFS2020

Wellesbourne Mountford Airfield (EGBW) in the rural area of Wellesbourne, Warwickshire.

Wellesbourne Mountford is best known for its role in the Second World War, when it was under control by RAF Bomber Command as an Operational Training Unit training crews from within the commonwealth and other countries.
Today the airfield has a CAA Ordinary Licence that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee. It is primarily a general aviation airfield. Wellesbourne Mountford is also home to Avro Vulcan XM655, which is kept in taxiable condition.

This scenery is a work in progress to try and recreate it as accurately as possible.

Just updated Bideford and Wellsbourne and the both work fine. Very nice in fact, particularly Wellsbourne. I just get the feeling that maybe if you could add in a few of Supersuds annimated humans it would liven them up a bit. Don't know if you can or whether it would be a problem. Thanks for the work you have done and the updates though.

What I could do is create a separate scenery package with superspud's animated humans, that complement this scenery, that way you can choose if you want them or not by just including the complimentary package

Yeah, that would be great. Not sure why anyone wouldn't want them though.

I guess if you're flying at night or in the winter perhaps? then humans pondering around may look a bit jarring :)

I guess so, though most other devs still use them. I look forward to the addon packages when you can. Thanks

HI there, we did a group flight this evening 02/11/25. We came to Wellesbourne which is my home village. I was showing everyone around and noticed the whole village buildings are missing apart from the airfield and a couple of nearby buildings. The other members who have the airfield also confirmed the village is flat, except for a couple of chaps that hadn't got round to it and dont have the airfield currently installed. This is for 2024. Is this linked to the Mod perhaps? If you can confirm thanks. Love my airfied though so many thanks for doing it.

sorry if there are issues in 2024. I don't actually own a copy of 2024 (I had it with gamepass for a short time)

but without a copy of 2024, it's impossible to work on the scenery for that version :(

maybe if they do a Christmas discount I'll try pick up a copy

The latest version 2.3 should now fix the issue with no auto gen buildings in the surrounding area

I love this addon! Many thanks for all your hard work :-)
I have a suggestion... Many continue to use MSFS 2020 alongside '24. I appreciate '20 users should use v1.43 and '24 users the most recent version... however keeping track of this is tricky (esp. if one is using an addon linker rather than placing the unzipped files directly into the respective Community folders). Therefore how about packaging both versions using the suffix 2020 and 2024 for the two extracted folders (I use 7-Zip to Extract Here), thus:

    Thanks again

Seems like a decent idea, I'm wondering if flightsim.to will actually offer a proper solution so you can say which version of the sim you're using.

At the moment there's no benefit of the v2 in 2020 because it just fixes things that 2024 broke :)

If I add something that will actually benefit the scenery in both versions then I'll look to make the update more sensible

Thanks for that. Just reinstalled 1.43. Works well enough with a couple of statics plus the Vulcan. Love the scenery.

Just downloaded this update. Why am I not seeing any static aircraft including the Vulcan? I assume your trailer video is recorded in MSFS 2024.

No, the trailer was recorded a while back in MSFS2020

There is an issue with how MSFS2024 loads objects in at a distance, they've changed the entire LOD system it seems, so further work is needed on this to fix/workaround these issues.

If you're using MSFS 2020 then you must use the older 1.43 version, I don't think the 2.0 version will work as it's built for 2024
