Why cant i draw in blender file?
WhatzIt2Ya
i cant paint anything on the winglets or the engines in the new blender file.
Hammer
Why the content of the blender file is so much complicated now? Was much simpler in precedent version... I do not know what to paint now with so much textures for a same part of the plane... Seems that there is something wrong with the engines that can't be painted and same with sharklets... Please would you make it simpler as older version! Great thing though is that we finally have wings in the blender model... But not the corresponding PSD for wings... Thanks
TrevsterH
The UV map layer issue in PSD files A339_AIRFRAME_DECALS_ENG_ALBD_1 and A339_AIRFRAME_DECALS_ENG_ALBD_2 psd are still present in paintkit version 1.4.

Any thoughts on the fix for this coming soon?

Hello,
Would it be possible to make 2 separate files for each engine and each sharklet as before the update?
I'm liveries creator for a few months now, for the moment exclusively on this aircraft, and I must say that it was more practical before, and without this I will not be able to make good updates on my liveries...
Thanks in advance for the answer

Hello...As you seem to be an experienced livery creator, do you know where I can find a tutorial on how to use this paint-kit or if it doesn't exist, do you have the time to make a step by step how-to. I already know that I need some essential soft like Blender and Photoshop, but not very much than that...Thanks for your answer.

this is one of the tutorials that taught me how to make my own creations, but you can easily find others : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZCe_x-V9co

Like others, would like to see the Engine Decals PSDs have the UV layer split to a separate layer so I can complete repaints with engine decals...
Crispy136
There is problem with the engine 1 decal. You can't paint the section of the decal on the thrust reverser. The decal on the front of engine one is OK as is the decal on both parts of Engine 2. It seems that the decal part for the thrust reverser for engine 1 is missing from the Blender file you supplied. The UV maps in the PNG files show engine 1 and 2 having an identical layout. But this is not the case when they are applied on the aircraft. If you apply a texture to one side of the engine in Blender, the front and rear sections of the decal are applied across both the upper and lower section on the texture. The eng 1 UV map PNG file is OK.

yeah i'm having trouble painting on the engine too... painting on the thrust section of engine 2 mirrors on engine 1 for some reason
Crispy136 12 month(s) ago
I found that the mirroring only occurs in Blender and not in MSFS, so is one of the errors in the paint kit files. The method I finally used was to use Blender to paint engine 2 texture only. Then edit the engine 1 texture using my paint program and use the UV template provided in the paint kit to position the graphic.
gete
thanks for making things much easier!
however, the UV map layer is not a separate layer in the A339_AIRFRAME_DECALS_ENG_ALBD_1 and A339_AIRFRAME_DECALS_ENG_ALBD_2 psd files

Can't get the supplied blender model to allow me to paint the winglets or the engines on the 3d model (decal or aircraft part). Something to do with the decals I think, or possibly my limited knowledge of blender. On this aircraft the decals seems to be just a separate texture rather than a separate part with its own texture as they appear on all other MSFS aircraft. Fuselage is OK though. Usual import methods used to import MSFS aircraft into Blender fail to import the engines or winglets, so can't use that as alternative to the supplied blender file. So this update has broken all my existing liveries and left me with no ability to update them.

hello,
This is decals layers, i will publish more informations later.
Crispy136 12 month(s) ago
For anyone having trouble using the blender file from the paint kit, do the following and it will behave more like an imported default aircraft in Blender.
You can then add only those textures you want to edit in the usual manner. This will allow you to independently edit the winglet and winglet decal textures (and I assume the engine and engine decal textures).

Thank you for saying this.
Really helps!

I am a big fan of your work. Without wings in blender model i can"t update all my liveries. Maybe later.

When I use the livery all it shows is pink squares and how do I fix this?
Tikki406 1 year(s) ago
I am having the same issues. not sure whats going on.
VBV001 12 month(s) ago
Also the same issue. No idea why
robe 12 month(s) ago
I had the same issue, but if you overwrite your DDS file into exist default livery directory such as textutr.aab, it works fine. Perhaps the livery temporary directory has some issues in it.

Thanks for this. Would you please add the wings in your blender model please. I do repaint wings for my liveries. Thanks in advance!

Should I use png or dds files?
PezznaCezzna172 Prime 1 year(s) ago
dds. you'll need to convert however from png to dds ._.
WhatzIt2Ya
hi, just wondering are the wing L/R ALBD, COMP, NORM files necessary for a repaint? I see some creators have either L/R or both of them in it.
headwind 1 year(s) ago
not need 😊
Carmelo
Hello,
I don't have the wings in the blender 3D model file and cannot find them listed to enable their view. Could you double check this please, thank you!
headwind 1 year(s) ago
hello, no need wings for a repaint
Carmelo 1 year(s) ago
An registration under the wing?
DreamS 1 year(s) ago
Some private companies out there do paint the wings.
headwind 1 year(s) ago
look in decal file, you can add registration
Carmelo 1 year(s) ago
Cheers mate
WhatzIt2Ya
it would be a massive time saver if you could include window cutouts in blender. 😊
headwind 1 year(s) ago
that impossible, this is the "porthole material" introduced by MSFS, sorry.
nubyto
is it possible to get somewhere livery for this aircraft without this "black zorro mask" on the front windows? Thank you
perfectionman 1 year(s) ago
you will find the "Black Zorro Mask" in the A339_AIRFRAME_FRONT_ALBD.PNG.dds file on the left edge. Just copy, paste in place and add any color you like. I have done this and it works!
nubyto 1 year(s) ago
Thanks mate, i will try. Thank you for your reply!

Hi again, i was trying to figure out how to make it, but still don't know. If you will write a short guide it will be nice. Do i need to use any additional app for this?
