This is an MSFS version of our previous CLE for FSX/P3D and includes two packages: one with default animated jetways and one with custom static jetways. Installation:

Remove and backup any existing KCLE scenery in the Community folder if previously installed
There are two versions of the CLE scenery. Copy and paste *EITHER* the folder "clefsdevelopment-airport-kcle-cleveland" (default animated jetways) or "clefsdevelopment-airport-kcle-statjet" (custom static jetways) into the Community Folder

Please note: I won't have access to the simulator until next year. In the meantime, if you would like anything fixed, I can send over the base files and guide you through how to fix the issue (live over Discord). In this case, please email us at [email protected] or join our Discord using the link in the readme.txt

It looks really nice but it is quite a large airport and yet the first thing I noticed is that there are hardly any parked AIG AI aircraft and some that land disappear on the runway suggesting parking is unavailable for planes that land there. There should be quite a few larger jets at an airport this size I would have thought. I tried both versions, the one with the default jetways does have quite a few parked AI planes so something isnt quite right with the custom jetway version by the look of it. Really nice none the less.

Thanks for letting us know! My guess is that the AI in the custom jetway version cannot park at the ramp parking positions (since default jetways are required for parking to be considered "gate"). With regards to large aircraft, the largest passenger aircraft CLE sees is the A321 from Frontier/Spirit. It's a large airport since it used to serve as a major United hub back in the 80s (served DC10s!) but has since been used as a regional hub by Continental and now just a spoke after the dehub in 2014.

Wow. This is amazing. It almost looks as good as Aerosoft’s Paderborn-Lippstadt. It might look better if you added people. However, people aren’t needed because of COVID. Amazing job!

Thanks for letting me know. I did not change the approaches or ILS so I'm not sure what might be causing it. The last time I tested the ILS it worked for 24R. Is your issue specific to a single approach/ILS or is it for all approaches/ILSs into KCLE?

I just finished testing the ILS on runway 6R. The ILS itself works fine, for the most part. Right before reaching the ground, the ILS diamonds seemed to deviate a little bit from the PAPI lights. This was very minor though., and I only tested it with 6R. The main problem is spawning in on an approach, where the aircraft spawns in somewhere entirely different than where it should be. This issue appears with all runways. Nevertheless, a great mod.

Based on what I know about the ILS system, I think that deviation at the end reflects reality since PAPI lights get extremely inaccurate in real life as you get closer. I'll take a look at the approach issue and see what I can do about it. Thanks for letting me know!

Such detail, even the overhead free way signs are accurate! Also thought the Ferris Wheel window in the IX center was just a black texture but it's actually glass... just need a ferris wheel in there ! 😊 Awesome payware level airport.

I have only parked at gate C7 but the gate does not work. I am using pushback helper.

Could you clarify what you mean by the gate not working? Does the jetway not attach or perhaps there are no pushback vehicles in the area? I don't have Pushback Helper installed myself so I don't know what's required for the program to work correctly.

Pushback Helper is essentially a pushback program but it has a few other features such as a button to activate Jetways. It works at all my airports (except Winnipeg and Saskatoon - but that's another story). I haven't tried using ATC to activate jetways and I have only tried C7. The jetway doesn't move at all.

Make sure you installed the default animated jetway version and not the custom static jetway version. Try activating it using ATC and see if it works. Do the jetways look like generic jetways at other airports or do they look unique to the airport/gate?

You were right. I rarely look at the files within my downloads. I simply install them using Modman. In this case it actually installed both files. Since deleting the static file, my jetways work. Well done on this mod. Sorry about wasting your time.

Love the special touch of Gate# on the building. First time at the this airport so I didn't expect it. Now it will make finding the exact gate so much easier. I hope others who do airports add this little touch and even the payware guys. Bravo !!!!!

PS, WOW, You really outdone it in the freeware category. Sheesh, didn't expect details inside the airport. I was told to park at gate C26 by ATC. Next time, I will know to park C3-C14 for American. Gonna take some time to study all the gates from inside because you just made it a popular airport for me. I was looking for a midwest-east airport besides Chicago.

As the guy that designed the Nellis AFB scenery for FS9, I know how much work these projects are to do so great job with my home airport KCLE! Thanks for adding the GA side at Atlantic, looks great alongside the IX Center. As a local who flies out of there every week for my day job I'm always available to lend a hand if you ever need one. One quick thing I've noticed is that all of the taxiway signs have a yellow backside to them, IRL they are black, any chance you change these up when you have a second? Again, been there done that so I know what a pain this can be, just trying to help make this as great as it can be! Thank you for all of the hard work!

With regards to the taxiway signs, unfortunately they are using default models that we cannot modify beyond the text on the front side. We're hoping to model and make custom signs in the future that will be much more realistic (including not being so bright at night you can't read them)

One of the best freeware sceneries out there. As a Cleveland native, this is the most accurate representation of my home airport currently available--even beats out the payware alternatives. Any chance the static jetways will get animations in the future?

Default animated jetways are the ones you see at most default airports. They can connect to the aircraft but are big (block some gate signage), bulky, and really not accurate in their modelling. Custom static jetways on the other hand look like the actual jetways at CLE and are correctly sized but do not move and connect to your aircraft.

AWESOME! Everyone....I recommend this version of KCLE. Thanks for downloading the previous version from my profile (version 1.75) but this one is far superior and now in the rightful hands of the original creators. Glad I could get it out as the alpha, but you will love this version! Way to go, CLEF!

You've done a great job with this. Thank you! 😊 Just thought I'd report that I noticed a bit of ground misalignment near Gate A2 (if you're unable to find it, I'm happy to provide a screenshot). I've also noticed snow cover inside the terminal when there's snow outside. Whilst not a big deal, is this something you could take a look at? Thanks again 😊

Thanks for letting me know! The snow inside the terminal will be taken care of in the next update with an environmental occlusion box. Just noticed the issue yesterday after uploading lol. Would you be able to provide a screenshot showing the misaligned gate A2? That gate is a bit funky since it was originally angled such that parking into the gate was quite tricky. Spirit (owns the gate) removed gate A4 to reangle the gate to make parking a bit easier

From the looks of it I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that it's near the border of two flatten polys. I'll try playing around with the polys but I'm not seeing it on my end so if it's still there in the next update, just let me know as well. Thanks for pointing it out!

Edit: I actually did find what you're talking about! Not really able to eliminate it completely but I was able to reduce it by quite a lot. Hopefully it'll look better in the next update 😊

You will find that happens because the digital elevation model tile size. Terraforming helps, but sometimes it does not. Plus, this area of Ohio is photogrammetric and that takes priority in the game's engine. One of the many hurdles I had when working on the alpha version....I now am glad there is someone who can concentrate on this great airport with a personal touch! AND the jetways.....those ARE killers to deal with, so I know what you are dealing with.....LOL. But, I know you guys will nail it! Ya know I'm your biggest fan now, right? Great job on the "moat" btw!

Thanks! Definitely agree that modifying terrain can be quite tricky just like it is in FSX. Luckily aprons don't force the ground below to be level with the airfield elevation which can be a mixed blessing haha.

I decided tonight to change things up and choose a new base to fly for ProjectFly. I fly United Airlines and put all of their bases into a random spinning wheel and spun and got CLE. I thought, okay, hopefully there will be some sort of scenery to make it better. I came on here and the first thing I see is CLE V2.0 released today. It's like the stars aligned. I appreciate your efforts, thank you so much!
