Lots of tweaks to the static aircraft.  Added Texans and a C17 (credit : WTigerTW).  Replaced some more of the autogen. Tweaked runways and taxiways.

Known issue : Still have the lovely pink effect from distance and altitude!

EGOV RAF Valley custom built

Our biggest project so far, here is RAF Valley on Anglesey, North Wales, used for training in Hawks.

With less info to go on than commercial airports, this has been a pretty long haul and we have tried to get it as accurate as possible. I have modelled over 20 custom buildings but we have left some default buildings in the areas that are only going to be seen from the air.  Superspud has again excelled himself with all the detailing - the World update and SDK issues have had him tearing his hair out!

Particular thanks to RFR (https://flightsim.to/profile/RFR) for additional airfield models and expert advice from his personal experience of being stationed there.

Credit to Military AI Works for the Hawk models.

There's hopefully plenty to enjoy - some interesting visiting aircraft and lots to discover in Superspud's fine details.

    After latest update of MSFS 1.15.7.0 i always get get CTD when
    selecting RAF Valley. Any sugggestions?

      Hi. I didn't get the CTD - all seemed OK. I know there are lots of issues with the World Update - hopefully if it's caused specific issues for some people, Asobo will sort it sharpish.

    Seem to be getting the odd pink texture issue on some distance from the base - noticed that someone else in the comments had something similar, if you have any ideas to resolve, please let me know. Otherwise, looks great! 😊

      I have no idea at all. It's built just the same as all the others.

      I think it's something that must've changed with world update 3 as people have reported it happening at Cardiff too after that. They certainly didn't before.

      Hi Superspud, I too get this pink outline at a distance but I'm not sure if it was something introduced in WU3 as I also used to see this from your version of EGGP.
      I cannot confirm if that still happens because although I did rate your EGGP i did eventually by the Digital designs version.

      I only got it after WU3. And now I'm getting in other places with a piddling handful of textures.

      I initially thought it might be because of overlapping textures but I unraveled all of them at Valley and it still did it.

    Anyone know how to ooen an airport in something like ADE and modify navaids ?

    The Valky ILS is 3 degrees offset. Wouls be good to get it right.

    Excellent work, looks incredibly realistic as usual.
    Only things I would add for a future update is:-
    - Valley doesn't have centreline lights on Taxiways or runways
    - 31 threshold is concreted
    - Air systems park facing towards Rwy 19 on ASP 1 (delta txwy)

    Did the ILS get properly aligned with the runway with this mod? In the standard sim it is offset to the right by about 2.5 runway widths.

      I haven't touched the ILS. I always, always seem to get it wrong. I can have a fiddle but it may well wreck it.

      I nearly died completing this. I do rather envy who see stretches of burn ins, cheesy surfaces and yawning gaps and think 'job done'. In that scenario I would start vomiting uncontrollably.

    Love this! Great realism and feel with it... I used it for my Spitfire review and tutorial here:

    Only thing I'd say, is after departure whenever I looked back, the airfield was all bright pink highlighted in the landscape! Never seen that with a scenery before but it stayed (and you see it in a few bits of the video during some basic aerobatics).

    With that fixed, this would for sure easily be a 5 Star!

      Someone else had that issue too. I don't. I think it must be a missing texture in your install, or another mod replacing a stock texture, but I'm not completely sure as I would've thought it would remain as you got close. I'll see if this has occurred anywhere else.

      Thanks, had no other mods nearby so was a little confused when I noticed it all pink haha... when I got about 30 seconds closer flying back, it all disappeared and it was only appearing pink when flying away... if that helps

      I can see it now. I can't find a reason so there's no solution. Emptying my community folder actually made it much worse. I've sent Mr Skell a second version with the original aprons, which looks crap and kind of defeats the entire point, but that's the only thing to do for now.

      For me at least if I shoot up into the air on starting to invoke it and then come back down it doesn't do it again even after restarts.

      Wow. It gets stranger. I well and truly can't figure out why it's doing this and I can't find any forums threads about it elsewhere. Maybe a revelation will strike.

      just tested again with the veg draw mod installed but now all looks fine. seems like a random msfs glitch or maybe it depends on the order loaded in the community folder?? anyway I'm all good here! nice work on the airport by the way, not somewhere I would have normally thought to fly out of (don't live in UK) but really enjoying this area, thanks

      The version with the original aprons does the same thing when Mr Skell tested it which makes no sense. I think it must be something to do with cache ing, not that I understand much about it. Maybe after a few reloads it settles down or something.

      Possibly... If it helps I spawned 4 times including 2 "restart" buttons from the menu. Either way it's amazing scenery... And flying away from it you wouldn't see it anyway! And flying towards it, it's not visible either ????

    .... if i may be picky 😋 the only gripe is the "raf merlin" all merlins were transfered under navy command in 2014 and would wither be grey or all green, I think the commando helicopter force would have something to say about it 😉

      Thanks for the good words. Neither Superspud nor I are miltary experts so we do use a bit of "artistic license"! As Valley is unlikely to be touched by the pros, we'll probably tweak it in the coming weeks/months as it has certainly had a good reception.
