    Description

    Welcome to Frankfurt! This mod is my effort to make the best of Frankfurt International Airport. It only works with the payware Aerosoft scenery of Frankfurt which in my opinion is the best und most up to date rendition of this airport. I kept things light because the Aerosoft scenery is heavy performancewise. However performance got much better on my system with the latest version 1.1.1. Compared to other excellent works like Brussels airport, Frankfurt seems a little lifeless so I added people in the spotter locations as well as improved the fire station area near the northwest-runway. I also started minor improvements in the wider airport area. Also go and check the Berlin Airlift Memorial. I put most of my efforts into that place to make it come to life.

    This addon was not designed by Aerosoft nor is it affiliated with Aerosoft. It does not change any of the original files.

    It is compatible with MSFS 2020 and 2024 but you might not see a few objects in 2024. Still it should cause no issues.

    Installation

    Extract the two folders into your community folder. If you are concerned about performance, you can skip the optional solar cells folder. However I experience no performance drop, even on my low-end system.

    You need the UK2000-library free from the marketplace as well as all World Updates.. Add the dependencies below.

    To see the aircraft at the Berlin Airlift memorial, you need the Microsoft DC-3 installed along with the DC-4 from this website. For the DC-3/C-47 you need the following livery as I tried to make things look as close as possible to the real thing:

    C-47 White Rabbit

    If the livery is not installed, the C-47 will not show up at all.

    For some reason it cannot be added to the dependencies below.

    The JHD-library is only required, if using the solar-folder. Unfortunately the default solar cells disappear from view at a distance of maybe 250 m, so they were not suitable for use near the runway and I had to revert to the JHD-library cells.

    Vielen Dank für den Link. Leider kann ich auf dem Bild die genaue Position noch nicht erkennen. Senkrechte Panele gibt es glaube ich im Sim bislang nicht. Wenn es auch die normalen sein dürfen, kann ich gerne welche aufstellen. Ich weiß nur weiterhin nicht wo.

    Alter Verwalter, da bleibt dem Koala ja das Eukalyptus im Hals stecken. Das sind ja 15 Reihen die ganze Bahn entlang! Danke, die hatte Google Maps noch nicht. Da muss ich erst mein großes PV-Anlagendiplom machen. Ja, mache ich gerne, wird aber etwas dauern. Ggf. mache ich einen separaten Mod draus. Ich höre schon die ersten wegen der Performance klagen. Das sind in der Tat ein paar tausend Module. Das kann sich schon auswirken.

    Thank you, yes, I'm using the performance mod, but I don't want to counteract it if I install a mod which increases the performance on one side and then decrease it with another mod on the other side.

    Just try. It is adding 1% of objects to the overall airport. I personally haven't noticed any difference.

    Hey, in the update, you added “Added police cars and police officers at the new police station near Terminal 3.” But the police cars aren't parked at a police station - they're at the FRALounge, “https://b2b.frankfurt-airport.com/de/veranstaltungen-events/fra-lounge.html.” I think this needs to be changed again, because this is definitely not a police station.

    Oh, thanks for your comment. My mistake. Well, I saw them there two weeks ago so the policemen seemed to have a good time at FRALounge. So either I need to change the scenery or the text. :-)
