    Australia World Update Fix - Image 1

    Description

    This is a fix for most airports of the new Australia World Update XXI. Though I really enjoy them, there is some stuff, that breaks immersion. What I did with this mod:

    • Changed candy coloured generic static planes for proper ones
    • Cleaned up untextured items
    • Removed duplicate or triple windsocks
    • Changed fighter planes at Tindal for F-18s
    • Cleaned up some ground textures
    • etc. etc.

    A shoutout to my Australian friends Mountainair and Gunther! Nobody has done as much for their virtual country as they have. I'm proud to present my little contribution.

    Installation

    Unzip the file into your community folder. There are seperate folders for each airport I worked on to avoid performance issues in the sim. No dependencies required.

    Really appreciate this update. Just gave Bathurst a while and it seems to have fixed the pink issues!

    This is kind of an advanced issue I have with the world update which I'm not sure is possible to be fixed.
    Runway 14 at Tindal is not up to date in the sim.
    In real life the runway has been extended.

    Unfortunately you cannot access runways in an on-top mod. I already tried something similar in another mod but it did not work out properly. Anyway I'll have a look at it when time permits.

    I checked it yesterday. Wow, that's not only a runway extension. There is a whole part of the airport missing, including a big apron and buildings. Yes, I could recreate this putting in textures but it would not be part of a working airport with parking spots for spawning and AI-traffuc using the whole runway. I could also create this but then I would have to redo the complete taxi system. That's too much work for me right now. Sorry! Let's hope, Asobo will fix it one day but we know it's unlikely.

    My mod does changes to the following airports that came with the world update: Broome, Tindal, Coober Pedy, Broken Hill and Bathurst. If you have a 3rd party airport for any of these, of course they can potentially collide in some small areas but they don't have to. You will have to try. But anyway, each of my airports has their own folder, so if you have another addon for e.g. Broome, just leave out me Broome modification and just drop in the others and you are fine.

    Thanks for this! It definitely brought some much needed fixes for me. Wondering if you you are seeing these untextured cones still? If not, I suppose I likely have a conflict with another mod.

    Hi, are you on 2024? I don't have that but this time I just supposed, it should be compatible, since it's basically the same sceneries. I did work on these cones. First of all, there were duplicates. In some places, I had to completely remove both of them, because I couldn't remove just one. Guess I'll try again and remove whatever is there and put in something else manually. Would you be willing to test my adapted version?

    My bad should have clarified. I have 2024 and 2020, but this issue is only on 2020. I'd be happy to test out any fix you might have!
