    Vandenberg AFB KVBG (v2 20/24)

    Works in MSFS24 however a couple of incompatible objects are missing

    Located at Lompoc CA ( a nice 15 minute flight from KVBG}

    NOTE: You MUST have all world updates installed (including UK2000 library) for this scenery to work properly. See below for other dependencies

    IMPORTANT: This scenery is what it is. If you don't like it, delete it.

    Great scenery, but the taxiway still has that invisible wall you run into about 2/3 of the way toward the northern end. Hopefully that can get sorted in the next update.

    Hi. I'm not getting any issues there. This was a completely new build. If there is an anomaly it is a defect with MSFS20. Probably suggest you go to settings and turn off your "crash detect"
    I'm not doing any further updates in 20 once I've finished with my current ones.

    My MSFS 2024 visit to Vandenburg airfield looks quite accurate. Very happy to see this conversion.
    DNF on jack. Not where he lived 3 years ago?

    hi, can you check please, taxiways on the some bug? when i taxi to the parking, aircraft hit some invisible obstacle... i save the video accidently, so after that upload i'll add it here. but there only one place, would be super if you check all the place if somewhere else something on the ground.

    Hello einherz. Thanks for the comment. My Vandenberg scenery is due for an update. It was one of my earlier sceneries and is on my list for a rebuild which will hopefully fix the problem.

    Really great job on the scenery. Military flights from Edwards AFB using the addon available on here to Vandenberg are excellent for short flights. Will look forward to the update and not hitting the invisible wall. LOL

    The Shuttle didn't actually land here. It was planned to do so on Military Missions launched from here, but they were cancelled after Challenger.

    Yeah, I got that comment from a few people😀 but left it there for "what might have been" Accuracy is sometimes dodgy!
    Gotta do something with all these neat objects eh?

    Hey, awesome scenery. I have been to Vandenberg myself and you have done a great job at replicating it. Quick question: Would it be possible to model the launch pads at Vandenberg as it is now a "Space Force Base"? Thanks.

    Thanks. I had a look at the launch pads but I'm only a novice at Blender and my attempts so far to build gantries etc have failed to launch!. In other words a disaster.

    Some day I might get it!

    I was just looking for Vandenberg scenery a week ago and couldn't find any. Thank you! Looking forward to checking it out.


    For a great flight, try San Luis Obispo (KSBP) to Santa Barbara (KSBA) with a stop at the very small Oceano (L52) and Vandenberg. Now, all four locations have add-on scenery!

    I was pleasantly surprised that you decided to do this AFB! You have included some very interesting content. Great work as always Derek. Man, you do crank them out!

    Really cool work on a very interesting location.


    Note: the space shuttle never landed or indeed launched from Vandenburg. It was planned to and the pad was built and fit checks were performed using Enterprise (hence the photos of the shuttle at Vandy). Sadly however, following the Challenger disaster, Shuttle ops at Vandenburg were cancelled and the shuttle was never launched from there. The planned landings at Vandenburg were for the polar orbit launches from there.


    The SLC-6 pad originally built for the shuttle ended up being used by Titan IV and for a while Athena. More recently it was used by the Delta IV rocket until it made its last west coast flight in Sep 2022.

    Hi Zorg. Thanks for the info. I guess my limited info was incorrect but at least the shuttle looks cool parked where it would have been. Filled an otherwise empty space!
