Had luck with some LOWX-Airports, but no other.
An uninstaller is not included. Trying to uninstall via Windows just starts the program again 😔

The charts, as I stated earlier, are very limited due to a major provider shutting down.

Regarding uninstalling the app, I tested it on my machine and it worked fine (see https://i.imgur.com/OMPzal9.png if you were on 2.3 and upgraded to 2.4, or https://i.imgur.com/bhdDKCi.png if you installed it using 2.4 installer). I am not sure how it opens the app. I would love to hear more details.

If all else fails, head to the app installation folder and run maintenancetool.exe or Charts Finder 2 Maintenance Tool.exe, whatever exists on that folder.

how to unistall the program? thanks

It's in the manual in the app installation folder:

The app can be uninstalled from Control Panel on Windows like any other app, and by running the ‘Charts Finder 2 Maintenance Tool’ file in the app installation folder on Linux.

For italian airports there is a free service (but accessible only for registered users) proveded by ENAV (the official institution for air controlling) that is using a different standard than the available in your tool

For example for the LIMC (Milano Malpensa) airport there are many PDF files available but they are referenced as https://www.enav.it/enavWebPortalStatic/AIP/AIP/ad/ad2/ADPMC2-1.pdf, https://www.enav.it/enavWebPortalStatic/AIP/AIP/ad/ad2/ADPMC3-1.pdf, https://www.enav.it/enavWebPortalStatic/AIP/AIP/ad/ad2/ADPMC4-1.pdf and so on up to 8
Important: not all charts from 2 to 8 are available for any airport, for example for LIMA just 2, 3 and 8 are available (as https://www.enav.it/enavWebPortalStatic/AIP/AIP/ad/ad2/ADSMA2-1.pdf)

As you can see only the last two letters of the ICAO code are used, and the path where all the charts are stored is just one for all
Actually I could define a source like https://www.enav.it/enavWebPortalStatic/AIP/AIP/ad/ad2/ADP%12-1 of type Normal (the 2 is for aerodrome charts so it should be enough) but I should be able to use only the last two letters of the ICAO code

Unfourtantly, handling a login to a resource and using the only last 2 letters is too complicated for the scope of this app. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion!

    Hi

probably if I save my credentials there is no need to make an automatic login

Is the partial ICAO name feature too complicated as well ?

Entering the credentials is the most difficult thing to do. It's not impossible, but it requires a lot of work.

The two-letter ICAO code isn't very hard to do on its own, but that means I need to implement custom rules for all resources, as some resources are four-letter, while others are two-letter, not to mention the credentials thing. Again, more work.

I might do this in the future. But in the meantime, I don't think I will do this.

    Hi

actually I can just use the two last letters to search for it (e.g. for LIMF I enter only MF)
Anyway the program doesn't return any file probably because of the required credentials: I have tried to be logged to the service in a browser meanwhile doing it but it made no difference

Yes. Entering the credentials in a browser doesn't affect anything. The app needs to know the credentials, sign in to the website with it, then it can download the charts. That's why I said it needs a lot of work.

Actually I'm not able to retrieve any chart
Always the message "Couldn't find XXXX charts" is shown

Is there any firewall setting to be applied ?

I had to remove a lot of old resources, and couldn't add AIPs for all countries. So there are fewer airports available. Making matter worse, the main non-AIP provider shutdown.

Actually I was able to download charts for HLGD, therefore it's just a matter of available services providing charts

Nice idea and the tool looks useful. But in most cases it can't find the right charts and the big annoying thing is: it doesn't just say " Couldn't find charts for XYZZ" but opens cahrts with almost similar names. In real life this could be deadly. In sim life it's annoying and useless.

I understand your frustration but there is really nothing I can do about it. It's the websites that name their charts incorrectly, and there is no way I can verify if it's the correct chart or not.

I think I will remove the resources that have incorrectly named charts in the next update.

The new version was released, check it out!
The problem should be solved hopefully.
