Once your addon is uploaded and approved, your work isn't done. Keeping your content up to date, responding to your community, and understanding your analytics are key to building a successful presence on Flightsim.to. This guide covers everything you need to know about managing your addons post-upload.

    Accessing the Edit Interface

You can manage any of your addons in two ways:

    • From the Addon Page: Click the Edit button visible on your addon's detail page.
    • From My Uploads: Go to your profile menu → My Uploads, then click the pencil icon next to any file.

This opens the multi-tabbed editing interface where you can update all aspects of your addon.

    Updating Metadata (General Tab)

In the General tab, you can edit:

    • Title & Description — Keep your title clear and your description detailed. Use the rich-text editor to format instructions, changelogs, or compatibility notes.
    • Category & Affiliation — If your addon's scope changes (e.g., you add support for a new aircraft), update the affiliation accordingly. See our guide "Understanding Category and Affiliation Selections" for details.
    • Tags & Thumbnails — Good tags improve discoverability. A compelling thumbnail image is the first thing users see in search results.

    Pushing Updates (Versioning Tab)

When you release a new version of your addon:

    1. Go to the Versioning tab in the edit interface.
    2. Upload the new file (ZIP or RAR, up to 2.5 GB).
    3. Write a changelog describing what changed — users appreciate knowing what's new or fixed.
    4. Submit the update.

Your addon's "Last Updated" date will refresh, and users who downloaded previous versions will see the update notification.

    Visibility & Notification Settings

In the Visibility tab, you have two toggles:

    • Hide Upload (Eye icon) — Temporarily hides your addon from public listings without deleting it. Useful if you need to pull a file for maintenance or rework.
    • Silence Notifications (Bell icon) — Stops email/push notifications for activity on this specific addon. Helpful for high-traffic uploads where constant alerts become overwhelming.

    Understanding Moderation Status

After uploading or updating, your addon goes through moderation. You may see different status alerts:

    • Pending Review — Your submission is in the queue. Processing times vary.
    • Approved — Your addon is live and visible to all users.
    • Declined — The moderation team found an issue. Check the provided reason, make the necessary changes, and re-submit if permitted.

    Tracking Performance (Creator Dashboard)

Visit your Creator Dashboard (/dashboard) to monitor:

    • Download statistics — See total downloads, trends over time, and which addons perform best.
    • Top Countries — Understand where your audience is located.
    • Recent Downloads — A live feed showing who downloaded your addons, with usernames and timestamps.

Use these insights to decide which addons to prioritize for updates and which types of content resonate most with your audience.

    Summary

Managing your addons is an ongoing process. Regular updates, clear communication, and attention to your analytics will help you grow your audience and maintain a strong reputation on Flightsim.to.
